Mario power-ups, the transformations give you entirely new but easy to understand move-sets, restricting your movement but allowing for things you wouldn’t be able to do with your basic move-set. On top of this, the segments with Gustavo work really well, the only downside is having to learn another large move-set, though it isn’t as complicated as Peppino’s. The visuals don’t look like much on face-value, but there is a certain charm to it when the controller is in your hands that you don’t feel when watching the game.

And the music is absolutely amazing, taking some inspiration from Wario at times but Many play-styles are supported, whether you like to walk through leisurely or blast through enemies and rooms, it allows for anything. P ranks are very hard to get, but they feel fair, as there are enemies and ingredients placed everywhere to continue your combo, allowing for a slip-up or two, and madly dashing back to the start while being chased on second lap is always thrilling, allowing no opportunities for mistakes.
