The variety of play LOOKS great at first: different characters with different available starting skills, a few dozen skills to choose from on each character, hundreds of skills in total, a bunch of different levels, and curses that add extra challenge. But having played at least a few runs as each character, a lot of skills are not meaningfully different from each other, and the skills you have rarely make a difference in what options you

choose as you level up. There are skills that scale with unusual stats (like armor, health, and run speed), but not enough to make a full build out of it. Few of the passive level-up options actually change how you play. The curses just “tune up” difficulty by adding more elite monsters, more bosses, more damage, etc – no unique challenges. Finally, there is no difference of play in the levels – only in the resources you get from them. Altogether, EVERY RUN FEEL.
