The game gives you new ships after every unique track you complete, meaning no two ships are exactly the same, and also meaning that a specific song will always generate the same ship so you might stumble upon something special and unique nobody else ever discovers. Each ship has a roster of stats that determine how it functions, such as the bullet spread/speed/pattern, speed, size and appearance. There is a new alternate firing mode that is useful for destroying enemy shields and destroying incoming projectiles, which adds some much appreciated depth to the combat.
